why can't traditional foods

be made sexy and

appealing?

thus began our quest to strike a balance between tradition and convenience with a Chennai-based brand that was keen on offering a healthy option for its traveling consumers.

Enter The Idli Factory. A company that today manufactures fresh, vegetarian snacking options from traditional recipes.

When the company began brainstorming its market entry options, The Idli Factory realised, it was very easy to grab a packet filled with air and some potato chips than to actually get access to some homemade recipes.

The problem was solved with the humble and one of South India's most famous and healthiest breakfast options, the idli. In southern states of India, idli is actually not just consumed for breakfast, it is an all day eatable. For generations, when a South Indian family traveled far and wide, they would smear these idlis with the traditional idli gun powder or what we call as idli chilli powder with generous proportions of gingelly oil or ghee, making them
natural preservatives.

reshaping tradition

We took the idli, which was usually in a circular shape and along with the client, reinvented its shape and fit 6 bars of idlis hand packed neatly into a box.

Thus began the journey of the humble and memorable brand, The Idli Factory and its entire 'Madras Bars' series including variety of
flavors and tastes.
